Hi everyone, welcome back to Delicioso. My name is Julieta.
On this occasion we are going to prepare a fajita a la Mexicana very easy to make.
We can eat it with rice, beans or a guacamole and it will be delicious.
The ingredients that we are going to need for this fajita a la Mexicana are going to be the following:
I bought 2 pounds of fajita that they filleted at the meat market.
We will also need 4 red tomatoes,
4 jalapeno peppers, 1 onion,
1 tablespoon of chicken bouillon powder,
4 garlic cloves,
a little oil,
½ a tablespoon of ground cumin,
salt and pepper to taste.
The first thing we are going to do is to cut the meat into fajita style strips.
We are going to cut it against the fibers of the meat. If the fibers come like this, we're going to cut it this way.
Once we have finished cutting the fajita
we will cut the tomatoes in Julienne cut;
like this.
We will cut the onion also in Julienne cut,
and also the jalapeno peppers.
I'm going to cut them in half and I'm going to remove the inside part
because I do not want this fajita to be that spicy.
I'm going to grind the garlic;
if you do not have a garlic grinder what you can do
is chop them finely.
On the stove, on medium heat, in a frying pan I will add a little oil;
approximately 3 to 4 tablespoons.
And here I will add the fajita.
I'm going to mix it a little so that all the fajita has some of the oil we added.
I will cover it and I will start cooking it.
The fajita has been cooking for about 20 minutes.
Now what I'm going to do is uncover it and leave it for a few minutes to brown with the same oil that it released;
this will give the fajita a better flavor.
After 5 minutes of browning the meat in the oil.
Let's add the onion, the jalapeno peppers and the garlic.
Let's mix everything up and I will cover it up for about 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, we mix it a little,
and now we will add the tomato,
the cumin,
the chicken bouillon powder,
a little pepper to taste,
and just a little salt because probably with the chicken bouillon powder is going to be enough.
We mix it very well and I will cover it again for 5 more minutes.
It's been another 5 minutes,
I will uncover it,
I will let the vegetables brown a little in the fajita oil.
And this is ready to be tasted.
